SKLifting table with Passenger transport
The task in this project was that a pallet or a trolley including an accompanying person had to be transported from street level to the room below. Due to the limited space, no additional stairs could be built at this point, so the trained employee had to be able to ride on the lifting table.
The lifting table has a load capacity of 1000 kg and a platform size of 1775 x 1300 mm. The level difference is 900 mm.
Additional equipment from the lifting table included railings, a portal as fall protection, a monitored gate, a tear plate on the platform, a mesh skirt as underflow protection and 2 additional buttons.
With this one Lifting table with passenger transport We not only assisted with the planning, but also carried out the installation and acceptance testing with a certified civil engineer. There was a minor challenge during delivery and installation. The customer's door was narrower than the lifting table, so we had to deliver it on a special metal pallet. Only once inside the building could we remove the lifting table from the pallet and swivel it horizontally using chain hoists. The remaining installation was then a breeze for our experienced fitters.
The lifting table was handed over to our satisfied customer in 2020 and is still looked after by our service staff.

Lift table at the lower stop - door open
If the lifting platform is at the lower stop, the trained employee can open the gate. To do this, the mechanical bolt must first be moved and the gate opened manually.
The lifting table can only be raised once the gate and the latch are properly closed again.
The gap between the lifting table and the floor is 15mm. This makes it easy to load with a trolley or pallet truck.
We covered the wall at the back with a smooth sheet of metal so that there are no shearing or crushing points. Signage with operating instructions was also necessary, which we supplied.
Lifting table with mesh skirt as underflow protection
If the lifting table is located at the upper stop, the area under the lifting table must be secured. This is necessary because you cannot see under the hydraulic scissor lift table with passenger transport from either the upper stop or the platform.
Here the customer claimed to use a mesh shirt or a chain curtain. This ensures that no person or goods get under the lifting table and are injured or damaged.
In addition to the mesh lining, the safety strip required by the standard is of course also installed.
According to the standard, this must be mounted a maximum of 8 mm inwards from the outermost edge. As soon as the rail encounters resistance while lowering, the lifting table stops. Only after briefly lifting it can it be lowered further.
The gate on the platform cannot be opened in this lifting position because the positive contact is closed.
Portal traveling on the lifting table as fall protection
The gantry is built on the lift table platform and serves as fall protection from the upper stop when thelift tableis at the bottom.
The portal then serves as a railing at the upper stop and is required by the standard for a level difference of 500mm.It is permitted up to a height of 1600 mm.
The red and white chain is not necessary according to the standard, but the labor inspector wanted an additional safety device for people who want to climb down by crawling. Installing a chain is often quicker than a long discussion with the authorities 🙂
